Inviting collaborators and transferring a home
Share a home with family, roommates, or property managers.
DwellHQ supports two patterns for sharing a home: inviting collaborators who view and edit alongside you, or transferring ownership of a home to someone else.
Inviting a collaborator
- Open your home and go to the Settings tab.
- Click Invite collaborator and enter their email address.
- They receive an invitation email. Accepting it adds the home to their account; they keep their own login.
Collaborators can view and edit everything in the shared home: rooms, items, tasks, projects, service records, and documents. They cannot delete the home, change its plan, or remove the owner.
Personal plans include 1 collaborator per home. Professional plans support up to 10 collaborators per home and unlimited homes.
Removing a collaborator
From Settings, find the collaborator in the list and click Remove. They immediately lose access; their own home data is unaffected.
Transferring a home
Transferring is for situations where ownership is changing hands — a sale, a divorce, an executor passing records to an heir. Unlike collaboration, transfer hands the home off entirely.
- Open the home and go to Settings.
- Click Transfer homeand enter the recipient's email address.
- The recipient gets an invitation. When they accept, the home moves to their account along with all rooms, items, tasks, service records, and documents.
- You can optionally remain as a collaborator on the new owner's account if both of you opt in.
